Annsborough Waste Water Pumping Station Upgrade – Public Information Session
30 November 2015 11:25
NI Water is scheduled to commence work on an upgrade of the Waste Water Pumping Station in Annsborough, Castlewellan in early January 2016. It is anticipated that the work, which will be carried out in the Annsborough Park area will take approximately 5 months to complete. We would like to take this opportunity to invite the local community to a ‘drop in’ information session at Annsborough Community Hall, 42 Ballylough Road on Monday 30th November from 4pm-7pm.
The construction work will include:-
- The laying of approximately 70m of sewer pipe and associated manholes.
- The laying of an emergency overflow pipe – screen to be fitted
- Upgrade of the existing waste water pumping station including replacement concrete roof slab and the upgrade of mechanical and electrical equipment
Throughout the duration of the works, there will be restricted parking around the pumping station as the road will be closed in this area to allow the construction work to be carried out.
Members of the NI Water project team will be available at the ‘drop in’ session to provide information on the project and discuss any issues local residents may have. Everyone is welcome to drop in at any stage between 4pm-7pm.
NI Water would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed. Once complete, the work will improve the sewerage infrastructure in the area and reduce the risk of ‘out of sewer’ flooding. It will ensure that NI Water continues to meet Northern Ireland Environment Agency Standards.
