Essential Watermains Improvement Work in Annaclone

NI Water will shortly commence essential watermains improvement work on Sentry Box Road in Annaclone, as part of our ongoing watermains improvement scheme throughout Northern Ireland. This programme of work is expected to start on the 7th September 2015 and will take approximately six weeks to complete. This £130,000 investment is good news, as the upgraded water mains will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply, while reducing leakage and improving pressure in the area. This investment is part of an overall £2,600,000 investment in the wider Lisburn, Dromore, Banbridge and Newry areas.

The work will involve the installation of 1600 metres of new water main from the Ballynanny Road junction to replace the existing main along Sentry Box Road. To facilitate the works, the road will be closed between Ballynanny Road and Fernhill Road. Traffic will be diverted via Monteith Road and Millvale Road.

Every effort will be made to minimise the extent of any inconvenience to local residents and businesses. Access to all properties adjacent to the works will be maintained at all times, with appropriate measures also taken to ensure the safe passage of road users and pedestrians.

The public are advised to stay away from the working areas for their own safety and NI Water would appeal for the support of parents to keep children and young people safe by explaining to them the dangers of playing in or around construction sites. Playing near our works areas can have dangerous consequences and we would like to spread this safety message throughout the area while we complete this programme of work.

NI Water and our contractor Lagan Construction Group will complete letter drops to those properties close to the working area, and would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed and would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to complete the work as quickly as possible with minimal disruption.
