Watermains Improvement Work in the Pipeline for Cushendall and Waterfoot

NI Water is pleased to announce a major £500,000 watermains improvement programme for Cushendall and Waterfoot which will get underway in September 2015. This investment is part of an overall £2 million investment in the wider Ballymena area.

The works will be mainly concentrated in the Coast Road, Kilnadore Road and Dalriada Avenue area of Cushendall and the Carn Neill Park area of Waterfoot. The work is expected to be completed by the end of February 2016.
 
This investment is good news, as the upgraded water mains will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply, while reducing disruption and interruptions to supply caused by burst watermains.

Traffic management and signage will be in place in all areas as necessary to inform the public in advance of the work.  

Access to all properties adjacent to the works will be maintained at all times, with appropriate measures also taken to ensure the safe passage of road users and pedestrians.  

NI Water will work closely with Transport NI, PSNI, local traders and residents to ensure that disruption is kept to an absolute minimum during this essential work.  We will also co-operate with Translink to ensure that public transport serving the village functions with minimum disruption throughout the project.  

The public are advised to stay away from the working areas for their own safety and NI Water would appeal for the support of parents to keep children and young people safe by explaining to them the dangers of playing in or around construction sites. Playing near our works areas can have dangerous consequences and we would like to spread this safety message throughout the area while we complete this programme of work.

NI Water and our contractor Lagan Construction Group will complete letter drops to those properties close to the working area, and would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed and would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to complete the work as quickly as possible with minimal disruption.
