Make Music in the Valley this Summer

All folk and general music aficionados are invited to NI Water’s ‘Music in the Park’ event on Sunday 30th August from 2-5pm, at Silent Valley Mountain Park, Kilkeel.  

The event, organised by NI Water to attract visitors to the picturesque Mourne site, will host the fabulous Darragh Folk band, to delight us with a wide range of Irish folk music.

Anna Marshall, organiser of the event, comments:

“This is the fourth year we have held a ‘Music in the Park’ event in Silent Valley and due to its resounding success in previous years, we brought the event back for summer 2015, with two dates: one held on 12th July and this latest event on Sunday 30th August to round off the summer holidays.  

“The event will be very much about relaxation; there is no better way to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon than sitting back and appreciating the scenery while being serenaded.

“Many spectators at previous events have simply relaxed with their family, picnicked and enjoyed the sweet sounds of the music.

‘‘This year, we also have the creative talents of Babcock and Bobbin face painters to bring your children’s imagination to life.

“We look forward to welcoming back many familiar faces and hopefully some first time visitors to Silent Valley.”
