NI Water Improvement Work Continues on Church Road Lisburn – Road Closure
05 August 2015 16:53
NI Water has been undertaking work in the Church Road area near Lisburn as part of its Castor Bay to Belfast Water Trunk Main Scheme, a £14m investment to safeguard water quality and improve the security of supply for our customers. The contract has involved the construction of a new pumping station beside Temple Golf Club and the laying of a new pipeline along Church Road. Recent work carried out by NI Water’s contractor, Lagan Construction Group, involved a number of large connections on the pipeline.
In order to complete all final connections and facilitate the construction of a new telemetry station on Church Road, which will remotely monitor the new pipeline, a road closure will be required as follows:
In agreement with Transport NI, Church Road will be closed to through traffic from its junction with the A24 Carryduff Road to its junction with the Comber Road from Thursday 13th August to Friday 4th September. The section of Church Road affected by the work lies between the Lough Road junction and the entrance to St. Andrew’s Pumping Station, beside Temple Golf Club.
The diversion route approved by Transport NI is via Carryduff Road, Saintfield Road and Comber Road.
NI Water and our contractor Lagan Construction Group would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this road closure and thank residents for their ongoing patience and co-operation while we work to complete this essential improvement work.
