Pipelaying & Road Closure - Crieve Road, Newry

03 April 2015 14:26

NI Water is currently undertaking work in the Newry area as part of the £6m Ballydougan to Newry Trunk Main Scheme, an extensive project that will upgrade the local water storage and supply network, as well as improving drinking water quality for customers in Newry city and the surrounding areas.

We would like to advise the public of pipelaying works which are scheduled to take place on the Crieve Road, commencing Monday 13th April for a period of approximately 2½ weeks. The section of Crieve Road affected by the work lies between the junction with Hilltown Road and Fort Hill Road.

To ensure pipelaying is carried out in the safest possible manner, Crieve Road will be closed to through traffic from its junction with the Hilltown Road to its junction with the Fort Hill Road. The diversion route approved by Transport NI is via Hilltown Road, Windsor Hill and Crieve Road.

NI Water and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering would like to thank local residents and road users in advance for their patience and co-operation and will do everything we can to reduce disruption in the area and complete this work as quickly as possible. Signage will be in place and access will be maintained at all times for residents within the construction area.

Customer queries should be directed to Waterline on 08457 440088, quoting “BSG Civil Engineering, Ballydougan to Newry Trunk Main Scheme”.
