NI Water Pump £750,000 into Tempo Wastewater Works

Work is currently underway to upgrade Tempo Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) in county Fermanagh.

NI Water is investing £750,000 to replace equipment at the existing works and bring it into line with Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) standards. This essential programme of work is projected to be completed by Summer 2015.

John Griffin, Senior Project Manager at NI Water commented:

“The work at Tempo Wastewater Treatment Works is good news for customers in the Tempo area, as this investment enables NI Water to replace the ageing mechanical process equipment, which has reached the end of its service life, with a more energy efficient treatment process.

The enhanced facility will increase the capacity for wastewater treatment while meeting all wastewater quality requirements, as well as bringing many environmental benefits, not least improving the water quality in the local rivers and tributaries which flow into Lough Erne.’’

Cookstown-based Enisca Civil Engineering, has been appointed as the contractor for the delivery of this significant programme of work.  

NI Water, in co-operation with our contractor Enisca, would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we complete this essential upgrade for the benefit of customers in the Tempo area.  Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum during the work.  It is possible that there may be increased traffic in the village during the upgrade work, and all customer queries should be directed to NI Water via Waterline by dialling 08457 44 00 88.
