Road Closure - NI Water Improvement Work Planned for Ravernet Road, Lisburn
13 January 2015 14:51
NI Water is currently undertaking pipelaying works in the Lisburn area as part of their £14 million Castor Bay to Belfast Water Trunk Main Scheme, an extensive project that will safeguard water quality and improve the security of supply for customers in the area.We would like to advise the public that pipelaying works are scheduled to get underway on the Ravernet Road, Lisburn, expected to commence on Monday 19th January 2015 for a period of two weeks.
To ensure pipelaying is carried out in the safest possible manner, our contractor, Lagan Construction, will need to implement a road closure on Ravernet Road, between the junction with Hillsborough Old Road and the junction with Carbane Road.
Signage with advance notification is in place and a diversion route along Hillsborough Old Road, Ballynahinch Road and Comber Road will be signposted.
Pipelaying and temporary reinstatement works are currently being completed on Waterloo Road. The Waterloo Road will be fully re-opened to traffic before any work on Ravernet Road gets underway. Permanent reinstatement on Waterloo Road will be carried out at a later date once testing and commissioning of the new pipeline is completed.
Martin Gillen, NI Water's Project Manager, said: ''NI Water and our contractor, Lagan Construction, would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while we complete this essential improvement work, which will safeguard the long-term security of water supply for our customers.
'Letter drops will be completed in the local area and customers with any concerns are encouraged to contact the Waterline number. We will endeavour to complete the work as quickly as possible, with minimal disruption and will continue to work closely with the local community to address any concerns.'
