Essential Sewer Upgrade Work Planned for Torrens Park, Old Park Area, North Belfast

17 December 2014 11:27

NI Water is scheduled to commence essential sewer upgrade work in Torrens Park on the 12th January 2015 for approximately 12 weeks.

This project will involve the laying of a new storm sewer, installation of new improved manholes and new sewer connections from the new housing development in Torrens Park into the sewer system.

This project is good news for the local area as this essential work will improve the sewerage infrastructure and reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding in the area.

As with all schemes of this nature, there will be an element of disruption. However, we will endeavour to reduce disruption where possible and minimise the impact of our works on the local community.

While manholes are open, the working areas will have warning signs and temporary barriers erected to protect the public from these hazards. The public are advised to stay out of these working areas for their own safety and NI Water would appeal for the support of parents to keep children and young people safe by explaining to them the dangers of playing in or around construction sites. Playing near our works areas can have dangerous consequences and we would like to spread this safety message throughout the area while we complete this programme of work.

NI Water and our contractor A.G Wilson Civil Engineering in association with RPS Consulting Engineers would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed and would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to complete the work as quickly as possible.
