NI Water confirm second threat on contract workers

NI Water can confirm a further threat has been received by contractors working on Rosapenna Street, North Belfast.  Contractors have left the site, however, we hope to get them back to remove the barriers and reinstate the site.  

As with our workers in West Belfast, NI Water will not risk the health and safety of our staff or those working on our behalf, therefore, the work will not be completed until we know it is safe to do so.   Any misconception or misreporting that our work is linked to forthcoming water charges puts our workers and their equipment at risk of serious harm.  

Unfortunately, we are faced with another situation where the local community will suffer because of the misinformed actions of a few.

NI Water would ask all political and community representatives to unite with us in ensuring the safety of our staff and their equipment so we can continue to carry out this vital work.
