Emergency Road Closure - Ravenhill Rd, South Belfast

21 July 2014 18:10

As part of the current NI Water work on the Ravenhill Rd the on-site contractor has discovered a large void under the road at the Park Road junction. The Ravenhill Rd had been operating with one lane under temporary traffic signals to facilitate the NI Water work. Emergency work will now be undertaken by NI Water to ensure the road is structurally sound. It will therefore be necessary to CLOSE the Ravenhill Road completely for the safety of the road users. The work to fill the void will be completed as quickly as possible, however until such times traffic will be diverted onto the Ormeau Road at the Rosetta roundabout (city bound) and the Ormeau Embankment (country bound) with the Ravenhill Road fully closed between Ravenhill Park and South Parade.

We understand that this will cause disruption and ask motorists to be patient while these vital repairs are completed.
