New £700,000 Wastewater Treatment Works for Lisnarrick

NI Water is scheduled to commence work in August 2014 on a new Wastewater Treatment Works at Lisnarrick, Co. Fermanagh. The existing works in the village has reached capacity and will be replaced with a new state of the art facility at the existing site on the Carranboy Road.

Derek Eccles, NI Water Project Manager said:

“The new treatment plant is good news for customers in the Lisnarrick area, as it will improve the local wastewater infrastructure, accommodating future growth and development in the area.

The plant will substantially increase the capacity for wastewater treatment and will bring many environmental benefits, including improving the water quality in the local tributary of lower Lough Erne.”

Local company Lowry Building & Civil Engineering have been awarded the contract, with project management and technical support from Mc Adam Design.

It is anticipated that the new plant will be completed by March 2015.
