Local WaterAid supporters treated to an Indian extravaganza

08 July 2013 10:43

WaterAid Northern Ireland recently held their Annual Supporters Meeting in the Indian Community Centre, Clifton Street, North Belfast.

In 2012 Northern Ireland supporters contributed around £90,000 to help bring clean safe water and sanitation to some of the world’s poorest communities.

The meeting was an opportunity to thank local supporters for all their hard work over the past year and to highlight WaterAid’s key achievements and fundraising initiatives for the current year.
Supporters were treated to an afternoon of Indian culture including Indian dancing, Sari demonstrations and Indian Cuisine. The afternoon concluded with an inspiring talk from WaterAid NI’s Secretary, Celine Rodgers on her recent WaterAid trip to India, on which she had the opportunity to see first-hand some of the vital work undertaken by WaterAid.
