Mournes Week is a range of events to showcase conservation work across the Mournes undertaken by the Forever Mournes Partnership.
NI Water is delighted to extend an invitation to the public to attend the fantastic range of guided walks, tours, and presentations which will showcase the vital conservation work undertaken across the Mournes by the Forever Mournes partnership. This week-long event promises a variety of special days, each highlighting different aspects of the remarkable conservation work being done to preserve and enhance this beautiful region.
Becca Allen, NI Water Catchment Officer, said: “Among the exciting activities planned, there are two NI Water-based events, which are completely free of charge. On Tuesday 8th April, there will be a guided tour of the Fofanny Water Treatment Works leaving from Silent Valley Mountain Park, Head Road, Annalong, Newcastle, at 10:30am and offering an exclusive glimpse into the inner workings of this essential facility.
“On Thursday 10th April, at Silent Valley Mountain Park from 7-8:30pm, join NI Water Project Manager Michael Donnelly for an insightful talk on the history and legacy of the area's water infrastructure. This presentation will provide a fascinating perspective on the engineering marvels that have shaped the region's landscape and ensured a reliable water supply.
