NI Water’s Foyle Street Project Team Promotes Safety Message

19 March 2025 12:28

NI Water’s Project team recently visited Long Tower & St Eugenes Primary school, as we continue work on Foyle Street in the city, which involves the replacement of the 100-year-old water and wastewater network between Water Street and Whittaker Street, as well as the installation of a dedicated storm (rain) water pipeline and finally the completion of over 50 connections to local properties. The project is complex and essential, with an investment of £4.2 million. The works are being carried out in phases to help minimise disruption.

BSG, the contractor for this major upgrade took the opportunity to highlight important construction safety messages to pupils at both schools, while emphasising the importance of filling up from the tap with an NI Water reusable bottle.

Work is progressing well and is expected to be completed in Summer 2025. NI Water is grateful to local businesses and the wider community for their patience and cooperation throughout this essential scheme. The project team has worked alongside those most impacted to lessen the effects as much as possible and we will continue our engagement with the local community as we strive to complete the project as quickly as possible.
