International Women’s Day - Celebrating Female Leadership at NI Water

NI Water is marking International Women’s Day on 8th March 2025 by celebrating its female workforce who are making a splash in the world of water.
With an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, NI Water is proud to be creating an environment and culture where everyone can achieve their full potential. This includes increasing the number of females employees who are still hugely under-represented in STEM careers.
Recent figures from NI Water show:
- 55% of NI Water’s Executive team are female compared to 27% in the utility sector
- 31% of NI Water’s leaders are female
- 50% of promotions to NI Water senior management roles in the last 12 months were to females
- 31% of NI Water’s entry level intake in 2024 was female compared to no female apprentices in 2019
NI Water recently celebrated retaining its prestigious Silver Diversity Mark Accreditation for 2025. The Independent Assessment Panel commended NI Water for its unwavering commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, the progress made to date in this area and its ambitious future plans.
NI Water’s Head of Learning and Engagement, Paula Graham: “Cultivating and advancing females in leadership is not just about fairness, it’s about leveraging the full range of human talent to create better outcomes for organisations and society. International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate successes and recognise the achievements of our female leaders.”
