Statement on Incident at Templepatrick Road, Ballyclare

A Northern Ireland Water spokesperson said:

NI Water has been made aware of an incident involving employees of a contractor working at a site on Templepatrick Road, Ballyclare on Wednesday 3 July 2024. 

Emergency services have attended the scene, and one person has been brought to hospital. 

We are currently working closely with our contractor, the Health and Safety Executive and our project team to do everything possible to assist.

Our thoughts are very much with the injured person, their family and colleagues.

Background information:

• NI Water, through our appointed contractor, is currently undertaking work on the Jubilee and Templepatrick Roads to complete the installation of new wastewater infrastructure (a foul pumping main). 

• This work is required to service a new housing development of over 200 houses in the area.
