Watermains Network Improvement Work Gets Underway- Enniskillen Town Centre

NI Water is currently engaged in an ongoing process of improving and upgrading the water supply infrastructure throughout Northern Ireland and work is about to commence in Enniskillen town centre. This work is good news for customers in the local area as the upgraded network will improve the quality, security and flexibility of the water supply, as well as reducing leakage and improving pressure.
On completion of the various utility works, Fermanagh & Omagh District Council will commence public realm work, which includes major environmental improvement works in Enniskillen Town Centre. In order to minimise disruption, NI Water has advanced a contract to upgrade the water supply network and minimise any future disturbance to the proposed council scheme.
The work is expected to commence in Darling Street on June 2019 and to be completed by October 2019. The work will be completed in sections and other areas affected will be as follows: Church Street, High Street, Town Hall Street, East Bridge Street, Belmore Street, Wesley Street, Market Street, Paget Square, The Diamond, Eden Street, Regal Pass, Clinton Centre, Wellington Road and Queen Elizabeth Road.

“NI Water is pleased to announce that this scheme has been advanced to accommodate the council’s public realm work. Our local contractor Campbell Contracts Ltd. has liaised with the Department for Infrastructure regarding traffic management and plans will be updated as the project advances. This will be in conjunction with Fermanagh & Omagh District Council and other key utilities in preparation for the forthcoming Public Realm works.”
NI Water will endeavour to keep any interruptions to water supply to a minimum and will keep the local community informed as the work progresses. A new text alert service is also available by registering at www.niwater.com, which will send notifications of unplanned interruptions to the water supply straight to your mobile phone.
In order to complete this work efficiently and safely, traffic management will be in place to maintain the flow of traffic and keep disruption to a minimum by working in sections along the town centre thoroughfare.
