Buncrana Road, L'Derry to re-open ahead of schedule

NI Water is scheduled to complete essential Sewer Improvement Work on the Buncrana Road this week. As a result of this work being completed three weeks ahead of schedule, the Buncrana Road will be open to through traffic in both directions from Friday evening 20th April 2012.

Sewer improvement Work will continue on the Racecourse Road for the next three weeks.

Approximately £700,000 was invested in this programme of work. This work is part of a wider £30 million on-going programme of improvement for the sewerage infrastructure within the city. The work will also reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and will meet the city’s existing and future development needs.

NI Water and its contractor Shearwater Consortium would like to thank the public for their understanding and patience while this essential work was completed.
