'Fall' into Autumn at Silent Valley
06 September 2011 15:02
NI Water is hosting the event to mark the onset of autumn and remind people that they don’t have to go into hibernation just yet; there is still lots of fun to be had!Activities include archery, clay pigeon shooting, candle making and Mr Hullaballo’s Interactive Theatre. NI Water’s Education Manager, Jane Jackson, tells us of the autumn fun to be had:
“The scale of activities will ensure that there is something to suit everyone. You can participate in arts and crafts with the doodlebugs workshop and a pottery demonstration or climb the rolling rock climbing tower. For the more active, we have Segway rides, an Autumn Treasure Hunt along with a Fungal Foray and the chance to hold a hedgehog or an owl.
“We are also holding a best dressed scarecrow competition as well as having stalls selling jewellery, books and delicious edible goodies. All this whilst enjoying music on the lawn.
“Visitors will also enjoy the new parts of the Park, including an extension to the children’s play park, picnic tables, nature trails and a visitors centre dedicated to the workers who built the Silent Valley Reservoir.”
Normal admission charges to Silent Valley will apply. All activities are free of charge. For more information, please contact Waterline on 08457 44 00 88.
