NI Water is scheduled to commence essential improvement work this month at Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works. £270,000 will be invested in this scheme, which will involve the construction of a new Pumping Station and associated improvements at the existing site of the treatment works. The scheme is good news for the local area as it will increase security of water supply and capacity at the plant which treats water for the majority of County Fermanagh and the Clogher Valley as far as Ballygawley.Derek Eccles, Project Manager with NI Water said: "The majority of this work will take place within the existing site of Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works and should not cause any disruption to the public. The work is scheduled to get underway this month and will last approximately 5 months. Customers in the area will benefit from the scheme as it will improve the capacity at the plant and the security of their water supply."
The work at Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works is just one of the many projects being undertaken by NI Water to deliver a modern water and wastewater infrastructure for the people of Northern Ireland. The contractor for this scheme is Deane Public Works Ltd.
