£1.2m Flood Alleviation Scheme for East Belfast

NI Water is pleased to announce that a £1.2 million programme of sewer improvement work is now underway in the Montgomery Road area of East Belfast. This vital scheme will last approximately 8 months and will improve the sewerage infrastructure in the area. The scheme is good news for the local community as it will reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding.

The improvements on site will involve excavation work and residents may notice increased traffic in the area. During the work, traffic management will also be in place and temporary traffic lights will be in operation along Montgomery Road, Alanbrook Road and Ladas Drive.

NI Water along with Project manager White Young Green and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering would like to thank the public for their patience while we complete this essential programme of work, and will do everything we can to minimise disruption. We would also like to appeal to the local community to remind children and young people about the dangers of playing around our construction sites and to 'stay safe' by staying clear of the works area at all times.
