Sewer improvement work gets underway in Queen Street Coleraine

NI Water would like to advise the public that essential improvements to the sewerage infrastructure will be taking place in Queen Street, Coleraine. This work is scheduled to commence on 9th May 2011 and is expected to last for approximately 8 weeks.

This sewer improvement work represents a significant investment of £640,000 in the local infrastructure by NI Water and is essential in order to meet our continued goal of improving water and sewerage services across Northern Ireland.

As with all work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption and a road closure will be required on Queen Street and Bridge Street, which will be closed to through traffic for a period of 8 weeks. Vehicles will be prohibited from parking in the vicinity of the working area, however, NI Water will endeavour to accommodate pedestrians and maintain access & deliveries to properties as much as is practically possible.

Once complete, this work will improve the sewerage infrastructure in the area, reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and will meet the needs of new developments in the Coleraine Town Centre area.
