Water Mains Improvement Programme Gets Underway In Holywood
22 March 2011 13:52
NI Water is currently engaged in an ongoing process of improving and upgrading the water supply infrastructure in the Croft Road area of Holywood. This work is good news for the area as the upgraded water mains will dramatically improve the quality, reliability and flexibility of water supply, while also reducing leakage. As part of this process, NI Water would like to advise the public that work is due to commence on Croft Road on Monday 4th April for approximately eight weeks. The work will involve laying a new water main between the junction of Belfast Road and the junction with upper Croft Road.
Unfortunately, as with all work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption, and it will be necessary to close the road to through traffic on a temporary basis during this period. Traffic management including signage will be put in place throughout the scheme and the work will be completed in sections to minimise disruption. Diversion routes will be in place along the A2 Bangor Road, Whinney Hill, Carlston Avenue, Princess Gardens and Ballymenoch Road. Diversion routes will change depending on the section of work being completed.
There will be limited access to properties in close proximity to the works but NI Water and our contractor Farrans Utilities will contact any residents affected in advance to make any necessary arrangements. We will make sure any restrictions to access are restored as soon as possible, and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
We would like to thank the public in advance for their co-operation and patience during this essential improvement work and would like to assure customers that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
