NI Water Board Statement

The Board of NI Water has welcomed the setting up of the External Review into the company’s handling of the recent major freeze/thaw incident.

In a statement the Board said: “It is our firm view that it will be to the long term benefit of NI Water and its customers that this review is allowed to take its course. It is grossly unfair that just as the Review is commencing there are public attacks on NI Water staff members.

“It is for the Review in the first place to establish and identify any failings in the planning or implementation of the response to this major incident and we would appeal to all concerned to allow this to take place.”
