Phoenix Natural Gas are advising customers who experience an interruption to their mains water supply to contact a Gas Safe Registered installer to confirm that their heating system should continue to operate normally.Manufacturers of gas combination boilers state that, even if a property is experiencing a temporary loss of water supply, these appliances can still be used for central heating if connected to a sealed system.
A property using a combination sealed system will not have a hot press (cylinder in the airing cupboard) and the boiler will heat the water as it is used (instantaneous).
For customers seeking clarification and who do not know who installed the heating system in their property, details of local installers can be found on the Gas Safe Register website www.gassaferegister.co.uk or by calling Gas Safe Register on
0800 408 5500.
Tenants of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive seeking assistance and advice should call 03448 920 900.
