Sewer Replacement Scheme Gets Underway in Omagh

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) is scheduled to commence essential sewer replacement work in the vicinity of Tamlaght Road and Clontarf Drive on the 1st June 2010. The work, which represents an investment of almost £2million by NI Water, will involve the installation of sewers along Tamlaght Road, Clontarf Drive, Mullaghmena Park, Great Northern Road and also along agricultural land. The entire programme of work is scheduled to be completed by June 2011.

This essential work will improve the infrastructure in the area, reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding in the outskirts of Omagh town, meet Northern Ireland Environment Agency standards and enhance the sewerage system to meet future growth and demand in the area.

NI Water and our contractors Farrans Construction Ltd would like to assure the public that everything will be done to minimise disruption while this essential work is completed. Associated traffic and pedestrian management systems will be in place to allow the works to be completed in a safe environment.
