Work on North Road, Newtownards

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) and DRD Roads Service are set to commence reinstatement work on North Road from Monday 29th March – Friday 2nd April 2010. In order to facilitate this essential work, the North Road in Newtownards will be closed for a period of five days. The closure will run from Quarry Heights to the junction with Londonderry Road.

The reinstatement of this work is to ensure the most durable finish to the road surface following recent sewer and watermain improvement work on the North Road, which was completed ahead of schedule in August 2009. Access will be maintained at all times for businesses and residents living in the area.

NI Water and DRD Roads Service will work closely together on this scheme to keep disruption to an absolute minimum and apologise in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause. NI Water would also like to appeal to the public for their patience while this essential reinstatement work is completed.
