Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) is improving and upgrading the water supply infrastructure in Banbridge, Co. Down. As part of this process, NI Water will begin installing a new water-main on Castlewellan Road on Monday 4 January 2010. This work is expected to take six weeks to complete. In order to ensure the safety of the travelling public, a one-way traffic system will be in place on Castlewellan Road between Church Square and Oakdale. As a result, motorists wishing to travel out of Banbridge centre will be diverted via Dromore Street (A26), Dromore Road (A1), and the Old Manse Road. Those drivers heading towards the town centre will be unaffected.
Please be aware that vehicles joining the Castlewellan Road from side roads will only be permitted to turn towards the town centre. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
During the programme of work, some customers may experience temporary interruption to their water supply, however NI Water will issue advance notification and will keep customers fully informed during this process. NI Water would like to thank the public in advance, for their cooperation.
