NI Water Announces £4 million Investment for West Tyrone

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) is pleased to announce that a £4 million contract to upgrade the water treatment facilities at Lough Bradan in Co. Tyrone, has been awarded to AECOM Design Build, in partnership with Farrans Construction of Northern Ireland.

Paul Davison, Project Manager NI Water, said:

“We are delighted to announce the award of this contract and look forward to working with our partners to achieve great results. Delivering significant improvements to the security of supply for residents in the West Tyrone area is paramount to this project.”

The upgrade at Lough Bradan Water Treatment Works (situated to the west of Omagh) will involve extensive improvements to the plant, increasing the capacity of the facility, so that residential growth and development can be met well into the 21st century.

Work is now underway on the scheme and it is anticipated the upgrade work will be complete by late 2010.



This investment in Lough Bradan is further proof of NI Water’s commitment to deliver a 21st Century water and wastewater service to the people of Northern Ireland.
