Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) will commence a programme of work on the 27th July to improve the sewerage infrastructure in the Feeny area. The majority of this immediate work will take place along the B74 Feeny Road. The investment of £450,000 in this project will include the construction of a new pumping station and minor refurbishments within the existing Feeny Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW). The construction of a 2.5km pumping main and gravity sewer from Feeny WwTW along the B74 Feeny Road into the Owenbeg River will also be carried out.
Michael Donnelly, Project Manager said:
“These improvements will enhance the service provided to the area by reducing the environmental impact of the WwTW while allowing for future development in the area.
“As with any work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption and possible delays on the main Feeny Road. NI Water and our contractor Biwater Graham would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and will do everything we can to minimise disruption.”
Appropriate traffic management methods and signage will be in place for the duration of this work.
