As a LEAP Technician, you’ll learn industry leading skills and get all the training and experience you'll need to succeed in your career. You’ll learn alongside brilliant people, and will receive a generous benefits package as you train.
No two days will ever be the same! You'll learn to operate and look after all of the kit and assets we use to detect and prevent leaks across our 27,000km of water networks.
The Leakage Employment Accelerator Programme is designed to give you real life, on the job experience and training alongside our industry leading Leakage team, over a 6 to 12 month period. During the initial training period, we will provide you with the new skills and knowledge you need to build a successful career with NI Water, and all the tools, equipment and resources you need to do the job safely and well. You will also enjoy being able to share your experiences and learn from other LEAP Technicians, colleagues and assigned personal mentors.
Following successful completion of the Leakage Employment Accelerator Programme you will become a fully-fledged Leakage Technician, and you’ll receive a salary increase and a vehicle for work.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- One year’s relevant experience (for example, operational or maintenance work within the utility sector; construction industry; manufacturing; farming; water networks experience).
- Candidates will be required to undertake competency-based tests within a computer based assessment. These tests will assess candidates’ essential skills, literacy, numeracy and spatial awareness. In order to progress to the next stage of the selection process, candidates must achieve an overall pass score and pass each individual component test.
- Have the right to live and work in the UK.
- Have a current valid driving licence which will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities.
- Have a permanent residence within the 30 miles travelling distance by public road to one of the NI Water locations specified in the area you are applying for.
