how to save water

I have got a burst pipe

Leaks outside your property boundary

If you see a leak or burst, please don’t assume we know about it. If it is some distance from private property, it is likely to be a leak from our own supply network.

To report a suspected leak on the public watermain, you can contact Leakline free of charge on 0800 028 2011.  Lines are open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Alternatively, during normal office hours, you can report a leak or burst using our online form. NB Submitted forms are not monitored outside of normal office hours, on public holidays or during weekends.

Our next steps

When a leak is reported to us, we will take the following action:

  1. We will send one of our technicians to investigate.
  2. We will work out where the leak is coming from, which is sometimes in a different location from where the water is visible. We may also leave markings on the ground – generally blue spray paint – to help our repair teams, and tell the public that we will be doing work at that location.
  3. Sometimes repairs take longer than we’d like, as we need to complete numerous checks and tests, and work with the relevant local authority to minimise disruption to our customers and local traffic.
